Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated October 18, 2026

Short version: clone only voices you own or have permission to use, never impersonate or deceive, and keep sexual, hateful or harmful content off the platform. The full rules are below.

1. Why this policy exists

LyreWave generates speech, cloned voices, dubbed audio, music and sound effects from your inputs. These tools are powerful, so we set clear limits on how they may be used. This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is part of our Terms of Service. If you break it, we may remove content, suspend or terminate your account, and refuse refunds for the affected usage.

2. Voice cloning requires consent

You may only clone a voice if one of the following is true:

  • It is your own voice.
  • The voice owner has given you clear, explicit permission that you can document, and the owner is an adult.
  • You hold the rights to the recording and the speaker's permission for this use (for example, a voice actor you have contracted).

3. Prohibited uses

You must not use LyreWave to create, share or distribute content that:

  • Impersonates a real person without their consent, including public figures, politicians, celebrities, executives, or anyone you know, in a way that could mislead others.
  • Is used for fraud, scams, social engineering, voice-phishing, bypassing voice authentication, or deceiving any person or system.
  • Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or sexually suggestive, or depicts minors in any sexual or harmful way.
  • Promotes violence, terrorism, self-harm, or hatred against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics.
  • Harasses, threatens, bullies, or defames any person.
  • Spreads misinformation presented as genuine statements by a real person or organisation.
  • Infringes copyright, trademark, publicity or privacy rights, including cloning voices from copyrighted recordings you don't have rights to.
  • Violates any applicable law, including election, consumer-protection and telemarketing rules (for example, robocalls).

4. Required disclosure

When you publish AI-generated voice content that a reasonable listener could mistake for a real recording of a specific person, you must disclose that it was generated with AI. Do not label synthetic audio as authentic.

5. Platform limits and monitoring

To keep the Service safe we enforce technical limits, such as a cap on the number of voice clones per account, daily generation allowances, and automated checks on sign-ups and usage. We may review content, metadata and account activity when we receive a report or detect suspicious patterns. We do not pre-screen every generation, and you remain responsible for what you create.

6. Reporting misuse

If you believe someone has cloned your voice or used LyreWave to harm you, email support@lyrewave.com with links or files and a short description. We respond within 3 business days and will remove infringing voices and content when a report is substantiated.

7. Enforcement

Violations may result in content removal, loss of credits, suspension of API access, or permanent account termination without refund. Serious cases may be reported to law enforcement. We may update this policy as the technology and the law evolve; the date above reflects the latest change.
